Ohnmar Thwin was born in Yangon, Burma. She received her medical degree from the Institute of Medicine, Yangon, Burma, and her MPH degree from Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. Ohnmar served as a senior health training officer for the nternational Rescue Committee providing chronic disease prevention education, as well as empowering and helping to rebuild the lives of refugees affected by violent conflict and disasters. She was certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in March 2010. Prior to joining RRI, Ohnmar had two years of related clinical research experience. She also worked on academic studies related to Alzheimer disease, neurocognitive disorders, pediatric neuromuscular diseases, and cardiovascular and psychiatric disorders. For the past three years, Ohnmar has been working as Senior Clinical Research Coordinator, a position that involves her in various observational clinical research studies related to improving the outcomes of dialysis patients, by coordinating with various clinics and organizations.
