Our focus is on leveraging advanced analytics, computational medicine, and AI to deliver data-driven innovations that transform patient care. We embrace a cross-functional mindset because the questions we deal with are too complex to be seen through one lens only.

At RRI, physicians, data scientists, mathematicians, engineers, theoretical physicists, and analysts collaborate at the intersection of clinical data, machine data, and real-world practice, with access to a large patient population and one of the world's largest and richest renal datasets.

Real-World Evidence

The real-world evidence team uses advanced analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of specific healthcare interventions and explore the potential of new clinical strategies, treatments, protocols, and diagnostic tools. The studies we publish not only validate but also amplify the impact of RRI’s explorations and advances. Our research often focuses on patient-centered outcomes, including laboratory biomarkers, hospitalizations, quality of life, and survival. Because we have access to data that spans over 20 countries, we have a unique opportunity to answer global questions using large, comprehensive datasets.

Clinical AI and Generative AI

We are at the forefront of developing AI tools that support clinicians and improve outcomes for patients. On an operational level, this includes utilizing large language models to assist physicians in collecting information more efficiently and to spend more time with their patients. In the area of pure innovation, our interdisciplinary team and agile development process enable us to explore promising ideas that are not yet connected to a clinical application.

Computational Medicine and Mathematical Modeling

We create predictive models designed to anticipate healthcare challenges and accelerate the development of precision therapies. This includes building realistic virtual trials based on physiological models that are married with both patient and operational data. These simulations enable us to test the safety and effectiveness of multiple treatment protocols on millions of patient avatars, something that would be absolutely impossible in a real-world clinical trial.

Data Analytics and Stewardship

Our analytics and stewardship team works with their colleagues across disciplines to understand the real patients and clinical realities behind our data. They are involved in every aspect of project design and are ongoing stewards of data integrity throughout each new stage of a project. This includes initial implementation of prediction models at the clinic level, and ongoing consultation with patients and staff to evaluate how AI models and new treatments are impacting patient outcomes.
