David is a theoretical physicist with a background in complex systems, biological and statistical physics. Throughout his career, he has contributed to several scientific fields such as developmental, stem cell and cancer biology, systems pharmacology, epidemiology, synchronization phenomena and quantum many-particle physics. He is currently working on bringing physics-inspired models to the world of health care to improve treatment and to learn about the impact of novel therapeutic interventions. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed collaborative and single-author publications and is an inventor on several international patents. Prior to joining Fresenius Medical Care in 2018, he conducted research at the intersection of biology and physics at the University of Cambridge, UK. He received his diploma degree in Physics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany and carried out his PhD thesis at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems, Dresden, Germany.
Ideally placed between basic research and the development of highly application-oriented solutions, the RRI combines the best of both worlds to improve and transform the world of renal care and beyond
