Valeria received her medical degree at the Escola Bahiana de Medicina in Salvador, Brazil, and specialized in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the Universidade Federal da Bahia. While in Brazil, Valeria divided her time between clinical duties and research activities at the university’s hospital. She was part of a multidisciplinary research group studying HTLV-I/II and has published in the field. Since moving to the US, Valeria has worked with pharmaceutical-sponsored clinical trials and started a new career in nursing.
